Violent clashes erupted during a local election celebration, leading to an attack on Congress MP Manoj Kumar.
In a shocking incident in Bihar’s Kaimur district, Congress MP Manoj Kumar was brutally assaulted by a mob following a dispute between school bus drivers and celebratory processions after a local election. The altercation took place near St. John International School in Kudra, where jubilant supporters of a newly elected PACS (Primary Agriculture Credit Society) representative clashed with school bus operators.
As tensions escalated, the Congress MP intervened to defuse the situation but was attacked by a group of miscreants wielding sticks and sharp weapons. Reports indicate that Kumar sustained serious head injuries and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Law enforcement, including Kaimur SP and additional police forces, were deployed to control the situation and ensure the safety of students in the school premises.
Eyewitnesses claim that the violence was premeditated, with eight to ten armed individuals targeting the MP. Meanwhile, Kumar’s brother, Mrityunjay Bharti, has demanded justice, citing video evidence of the attack as proof of orchestrated violence.
The attack on a sitting MP raises serious concerns about law and order in Bihar. As investigations continue, political repercussions could follow, with opposition parties likely to question the state's security apparatus ahead of upcoming elections.
